About Me & Legal Technicalities

Hi. My name is Morshed and I was called to the Bar of England & Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn on 26 July, 2012 after completing the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at the College of Law, Birmingham. After working in Bangladesh for a year and a half, I completed a LLM in Advanced Studies in International Civil and Commercial Law (cum laude) at Leiden University, the Netherlands. I currently work in the Company Law Department of the same university, where I conduct research on international insolvency law, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, workers’ cooperatives and international labour rights.

I was an international student for the four years in the UK and through this blog I hope to share my experiences of studying Law in the UK during that period. By doing so, I hope to inform prospective law students from Bangladesh (and elsewhere) of the realities of gaining a legal education in the UK and hopefully give them ideas on how they can make the most of their time there.

I may occasionally deviate from the above theme and write or post articles on legal issues that interest me. All work is mine unless otherwise indicated.
